Sometimes it’s too easy to let the green-eyed monster creep into your inner psyche.
For instance, I yearn for Kate Beckinsale hair. Or Angelina Jolie legs. (At 5’2″, I think I am pretty much out of luck in that department.)
It happens in my business, too. Sometimes that envy can get a bit ugly—so how do you turn those disempowering emotions into something empowering?
I’ve got the formula to get you out of those feelings of jealousy, and into maximizing your strengths for your business.
During the video, I’ll also share with you one exercise that will both play up your core gifts and guide you toward the best content and marketing for your business.
Enjoy—and make sure to leave me a comment on how you shift your envy into (good) energy!

Pam, this was another excellent post and should be helpful to many. The core issue here is to know your strengths and focus on them, of course. I know you’re familiar with Ichak Adizez. I think you’ve referred to him before. Not all that many in your audience are, I’ll bet. Germane to your message in this post, might it not help some who have difficulty discerning their strong and weak points to learn about “PAEI”?
His core and unique management principle is that YOU don’t have to have all of the gifts. That it’s more important to learn what you’re good at and have the wisdom to team up with others that can fill in for your short suit(s). There’s no room for envy there!

Love this Ellis – absolutely I LOVE Adizes work – I was introduced to him and his work when I was with Tony Robbins. His book “Managing Corporate Lifecycles” is a must read for all business owners as it walks through doing the right thing at the right stage of your business. Thanks for your comment. Very meaningful! 🙂

Great story about the green-eyed monster. I had a similar experience this week and, like you, know better but still went into the envy-guilt mode. Funny how our inner child emotions come out and bite us from time to time. Having recently moved to a new area and being virtually unknown here, it is going to take some time to get my footing and I have to be okay with it. My gift is teaching and speaking with the guiding principle to help people get real, get connected and get living through authentic communication. Staying true to yourself and have systems in place to assist make all the difference. Thank you for a great post.

Pam, it’s brilliant post. Very empowering. I’m an X-ray engineer, coming to retirement. June 2014 I wrote my first book ‘Wake-Up Calls’ and bit nervous that how my writing will be compared against well known writers. English is not my first language. I’m half way through to my 2nd book ‘Bombay to Birmingham’. I’m questioning my self, do I wait to get recognition for the first book or to go ahead and finish the 2nd book? the 3rd and 4th book are already in the pipe line, in bits and pieces. This video clip is very empowering for me and I’ve saved the link so that can watch and listen again and again. You talk is very simple and with clear message. I very much appreciate.

Thanks so much for your message! If your 2nd book is almost done, go ahead and finish it. Just make sure that you set up the marketing properly to take advantage of the opportunity to drive and capture leads from your book for your business. Then, instead of your 3rd and 4th book, I would recommend focusing on how to monetize the leads from the first two books – what products and services make sense as a follow up for your audience of book buyers? It’s an extraordinary accomplishment to publish one book, much less two, and I want to make sure you turn this success into a business that makes you money in addition to extending your impact! Keep me posted as to how you’re doing!

Hi Pam
I watched this video before and searched for it today to watch it again so I can remind myself to change disempowering thoughts to empowering ones. This is a classic video and we should watch it from time to time to remind ourselves so we don’t go into crazy jealous/envy mode about others and focus on what our gifts are. We constantly need to control our thoughts don’t we. It’s a never-ending story. I appreciated watching this video again. Thank you as always.
Happy holidays to you and your family and especially Abby x
