First, if you haven’t seen Part One of this blog series, make sure to go back and check it out before you dive into Part Two. It’s epic, I promise!
I wanted to separate out this final pillar to building a world-class marketing team because it’s so critical to your business. In fact, I’d argue that it’s the difference between feeling like Dr. Frankenstein after bringing his monster to life or getting the girl, the martini and the glory like James Bond.
If you want to feel cool and in control of your business like 007—who had a pretty amazing support staff of his own!—I’ll show you how in this final pillar of my epic series. Plus, I’ve got a new download for you, one that will help you find the right Q or Miss Moneypenny—and put them in the roles that move your business forward seamlessly. You’ll find it below the video.
Enjoy—and make sure to leave me a comment! I want to hear your secrets behind the best support staff you’ve ever hired.

Pam, great stuff like always. Well organized, tightly structured and easily understood. Can’t wait for the next episode. Hope you’ll tell us your tricks for finding the experts that make up a team. I’ll assume it’s a tad more complicated than just going to fiverr!
Pam Hendrickson says
Thanks – and it depends. Fiverr is great for certain things (quick creative projects, finding talent, etc.). THe biggest thing for me is to (1) know what you need (2) clearly and specifically define the position (or projects/deliverables) and (3) don’t over or under hire. Sometimes a $5 project is great and you find a good designer. Sometimes you need the $150/hour tech person to set up a complicated sales sequence. Hope this helps! 🙂

Dear Pam,
This is epic! Most of the information around marketing for entrepreneurs tackles one of the pillars or one team members expertise. And we need those deep dives.
But your post is epic because it lays the foundation. I already had an aha realizing a few areas I’m missing.
I agree with Terry. I’d love to know how to hire for many and/or all when you haven’t reached the revenue yet of a large corporation. And what are red flags that show up around hiring?
Thanks

Great question, Malla, I’ll definitely cover some ideas around hiring in a future blog. That said, I think it’s really important to have a detailed job standard in writing so everyone is working off the same expectations. Also, look at soft skills as often times more important than soft skills, especially when it comes to marketing. Technology is changing so rapidly, it affects every facet of marketing and so you need smart people who can quickly learn and adapt to this. In addition, I want everyone to be a great writer on my team – this means they can communicate, organize thoughts, and use information intelligently. Work ethic, resourcefulness and flexibility are also a ‘must.’ Okay, I’ll stop 😉 – but I will tackle this in more detail. Thanks for the comment!
