Should I start dressing like Mark Zuckerberg?
It’s a real possibility. It’s not that I believe gray t-shirts look particularly good on me and I DEFINITELY don’t believe they’re the key to his massive success.
But it would save me anywhere from 10 to, oh, 30 minutes of hemming and hawing every morning (these blog videos are forever, you know!)—and we ALL need more time in our day, right?
But before you go out and buy a full rack of black turtlenecks à la Steve Jobs, let’s talk about how you can really find more hours in the day. Seriously.
No energy drinks, no secret productivity apps and no monochromatic wardrobe—just three lessons that will help you make a bigger impact and get better results without putting in more time.
So put down that 5-Hour Energy drink and check out the video below.
Please let me know if these tips help you manage your time and resources more effectively in your business. And if you have a tip of your own, please share!

Great video Pam! These are high level ideas that most marketers only share in their $10,000 private masterminds, thank you for giving them freely here!

Thanks Pam. I have some awesome online gurus – one of which is you. My dilemma has been that they keep teaching such great stuff I can’t keep up to actually implement any of it so I’ve been in overwhelm and feeling like I can never get it all done . You’ve helped me see that I need to just do it small which will allow me to do that piece well and build from there.
Any advice for that feeling of missing out if I don’t buy the guru’s latest thing that I won’t be ready for until further down the road? I spend so much time listening to their seminars, buying that ‘thing’ and partially learn their training before the next ‘gotta have this thing’ comes out. So I’ve bought into their pitch but haven’t had time to do anything. Please help me stop the insanity.

Susan, I think we’ve all been there at some point or another. In terms of the “latest” thing, what I would say is that there are A LOT of great programs out there so pick one that resonates with you and use it. Don’t allow yourself to get into the next one until you’ve implemented the last. There are so many ways to get results and achieve what it is you want so try not to get stuck in feeling like you’ve got to do it a specific way following a specific method. Best is to pick one thing, and then taking small actions that build on each other to create momentum and grow. I would also say to find an accountability partner who can help keep you on track. The way to stop the insanity is that you need to be the one to stop it. One thing at a time and you can get there!

So needed to hear this right now! I’ve been feeling either like a hamster on a wheel and unfocused or being so overwhelmed that I end up doing nothing. Happy to put these tips into practice and will let you know how it goes!

Funny metaphor (hamsters) given your background. 🙂 Yes, you just nailed the biggest problem with overwhelm. We all have to help each other take it one step at a time! Hoping to see you again soon!

Hi Pam, These very well explained practical suggestions, strategies really, along with your real life examples were of immense value to me. I am in the process of being admitted into a graduate studies program and needing to prioritize the work activities in line with my overall vision for my career growth. I say this because though I have a business, the business is just the learning ground for the innovations I desire to create and promote in my profession in general. Lofty goals, and way late in being achieved. However, one needs a clear path to success and I believe I have found one that can work over the last 1/3 of my life.
Congrats on being ok where you are now, and constructively iterating as you proceed.
Respectfully yours,
Suzanne

Suzanne – a lot going on in your world and congrats on the grad program! 🙂 The biggest key is to take the path you have found and work it – as you said, you’re on the right track and now it’s just a matter of consistent focus and discipline to stay on it. Keep me posted about how it’s going!
