I’m a little nervous about this week’s blog post because, as you’ll see, I did something a little bit different. (Including wearing workout clothes and not doing my hair!)
But here’s what happened: inspiration struck and my video guys weren’t around. As any good product creator (or marketer!) knows, you can’t always schedule your inspiration. So I grabbed a friend and my iPhone and filmed this video for you right there and then.
My inspiration came from a mind-shifting training I just attended, put on by my friend, NFL standout and acclaimed speaker, Bo Eason. The event was called “The Best,” and, as a textbook overachiever, the event really resonated with me. š
I had a really big “aha!” after the event that I wanted to share with you. I hope you’ll forgive the distractionsāwind, trucks, etc.ābecause I thought you would ultimately get a lot out of this message.
As always, let me know what *you* think and leave me a comment below the video. I love hearing from you.

Thanks for this video Pam!! After MML event I had renewed energy and confidence! I sold my FIRST District wide sale for my Jumpstart to Success School program that included a 3 year commitment from this District and all 5 sites! It made me think about what Iām doing for the long haul. For the next 3 years I will continue to improve and add content to the program that they already love.
Iām also thinking of a strategy to expand what Iām doing to other States, and into Canada, but like you said, pacing myself. To think of doing this all at once is a bit overwhelming!
Thank you for the reminder to pace myself. launched without perfection, and accomplished something I had never done before 2 months after your event with the memory of Bo Eason saying ā let them see who you are!ā
Thank you Pam!

Andrea, you made my day! Congratulations! Yes, I think itās the āover-achieverā syndrome that many of us suffer from. My favorite line from Bo is āMake them deal with you.ā Way to go!

In business as well as in life, maturity, wisdom, and focus are all built on the building blocks of the one preceding it. Prerequisite knowledge and experience are the building blocks when the lessons learned are in place.
Patience, fortitude and trust,(I believe) make up the cement holding these blocks together.
Being the best at learning ālifeā will make one the best in other areas ā i.e. business.
Makes me think of the turtle and the hare fable. š
Happy work out!

Great metaphor Maryalice, I agree. My dad was a process engineer and he always used to say that in management there often was ānever time to do it right, but always time to do it over.ā Great thing to remember so we can pace ourselves and do things ā not perfectly ā but the right way that builds our businesses with a foundation that makes sense and that allows us to have the JOY of owning a business, too.

Pam, you boiled it down to one word, focus. Sometimes, I get pulled in so many directions that I lose my focus. I tend to be working on many different projects at the same time and with activities from my kids, my job and my business all coming together, I can easily lose focus on whatās important both in my private life and my business.
At times, I suffer from tunnel vision and I know it isnāt good for my growth. Your video showed me I need to slow down and see the forest for the trees as they say. I know what I want and I want to get their fast because writing childrenās books is my passion.
I understand completely what you are saying. Focus on what is real, have a clear path and strategy on what you want to do, pace yourself and continue to grow.
Every time I read and listen to one of your posts, it keeps me in line. Whenever I stray I know you will give me some sage advice that I can use to make strides in my business.
Thanks!!!

A.J., thank you so much for your comment! Iām so glad you found the video useful. We all get tunnel vision, which is why we need those crucial reminders to step back, refocus our efforts and our energy. Itās great that youāve found your passion in writing childrenās books. Some people find locating their passion is their biggest challenge! š Iām so glad you stopped by, and please keep me posted!
