While today I run a high end consulting business and frequently speak at high profile events, there was a time when no one was knocking on my door.
I had to work really hard to close potential consulting clients and I often didn’t get the rate I wanted for the value I could deliver. Plus, when I was tapped for a speaking engagement, I’d show up to a room of 30 people or fewer—if I was lucky. I plastered a smile on my face and gave those people my all. But the whole time, I was thinking, “I’ve got to be missing something.”
Everything changed when I embraced ONE marketing tool.
Click below to discover what it is and how you can use it to 1) build instant credibility in your niche, 2) sell more products and services and 3) open up doors to new business opportunities.
Please let me know in the comments if you either already use this tool (but you know you can go to the next level to maximize it) or if it’s something you want to do, but just don’t yet have a strategy to get it done. I’d also love to know any other tips you have to share!

The timing of your messaging is impeccable. I am currently pivoting the direction and intent of my book and my course. Your advice to be clear on the outcome of my book resonated with me. There is a difference between writing a NYTimes best-seller or writing the book and using it as a marketing tool. The latter is probably a lot easier, too! 🙂 I’m aware of Mike’s Publish and Profit training, but I’ve really never considered it. I signed up for your joint webinar with him. I’m looking forward to receiving more gold nuggets of clarity!
Thank you, once again, Pam, for clarity and thought-starters (and perfect timing!).

That’s awesome Annette! Yes, it was a complete brain twist when Mike taught me the marketing power and strategy behind having a book as I’d never thought of it that way. Looking forward to seeing you in the training. In the meantime, let’s dream a little…what would be your book topic or theme? 🙂

Great post Pam. I’ve been wanting to write a book for sometime. I was concerned if I wrote a book and put my content in a book, there would be no reason for someone to buy my on line course, or go through my coaching program. Looking forward to the webinar.

Joe, I used to think the exact same thing! Then, I realized that a book can actually be your most powerful tool to sell your online course – there is a nuance between a book and a course – and we’ll touch on that on the training, too. When I did it I actually found there was a lot of synergy between the two. In the meantime, one thing I’d suggest (this helped me a LOT with this question) is to make a list of the “what” and the message bullets that would go in your book. Then, make a column next to that called “how” where you list the bullets of your detailed strategies, tools and exercises to help people achieve the “what.” Don’t try to make this list perfect – just get it out of your head and onto paper (or computer!). 🙂

Looking forward to the training with Mike.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Mike Koenigs for years. We’ve done business together, had great discussions and the one thing that is consistent about Mike is he teaches me something in every conversation. Having seen his book publishing seminars, I would urge anyone who has an interest in “putting out a book,” not just writing it, but becoming an author, to get this!
Pam’s work astounds me. Her methodology and intelligence, along with her years of success are enough so that anyone wanting more in life should stay close, listen well, then activate what she shares.
The two of them together? Do I have to say more? ENJOY and PROSPER. I will.

Tom, what a nice message to receive! Thanks SO much for your kind words – I have learned so much from Mike and am grateful as he is the person who pushed me years ago to start my own business! Looking forward to seeing you on the broadcast and I’ll be sure to say ‘hi’ in the chat! 🙂

Pam, I have two books out, and sales are well terrible! LOL I know that many promise high sales, revenues, etc… unfortunately they request $10k or more. I would even offer 40% commission from sales, speaking engagements, etc for 3 years. Any insights are appreciated! Love’s Essence: The Relationship Guide (Amazon) is the most recent release and currently working on another regarding healing after affairs.
Thank you!

Hey Greg, the thing I appreciate about what I learned from Mike is that (of course it depends on your outcome) but if you’re using your book for marketing purposes, it’s not about the sales. It’s about knowing how to leverage the book to support other parts of your business. This is the piece I learned from Mike that transformed so much for me. I hope to see you on the webinar and be sure to ask questions in the chat as we go along – I think it might trigger some ideas for you to use your books in some new ways! And, congrats for writing the books – sales, aside, it is a BIG achievement!

Many thanks, Pam. Great introduction into thje subject. I especially like the story how you got to your book. Godd luck for all what comes.

Absolute GOLD once again, Pam. Your generosity astounds me. Narrowing the outcome of the book within the terms you discuss here is the piece others advising on the topic seem to either be unaware of or unwilling to specify.
I’ve also been helped by your message to give small doses of information. Show them the pathway. Teach them how to think about the problem. Don’t overwhelm them with everything you’ve got. Without this advice, I would have been likely to give away the whole farm, and leave myself subject to copy cats … or is that a thing that will happen anyways?
Thank you. I hope to be one of your successful student examples one day … soon.
Ps: I’m going to try to make the 4am my time seminar with Mike Koenig. Fingers crossed there’s an encore.

Thanks for this Pam, especially the piece about the purpose of the book – that it is more of a concept piece rather than a full training piece. I also found it very helpful where you talked about backing into it to get the message right to support my products. I’m off to hear Mike’s webinar. Thank You.
