In honor of my birthday week, I’ve been thinking about all of the love/hate relationships I’ve had over the years.
Love the Chargers . . . hate to watch them lose games (or their stadium)!
Love the taste of birthday cake . . . hate what it does to my thighs.
It’s been a bit similar with webinars, too. To be honest, I’ve had an up and down relationship with them for a while. From the pain (accidentally canceling a HUGE webinar just 30 minutes before it was supposed to start) to the glory (feeling the thrill of connecting with my first webinar participants and watching them turn into customers), it’s been a heck of a ride.
But through it all, if I had to pick one "desert island" tool for my business, it would be . . . you guessed it, live webinars.
In this week’s blog, you’ll also discover my 5 core strategies for using this "desert island" tool to build your business. Trust me, there is a wrong way to do webinars, but I’ve already made those mistakes so you don’t have to. 🙂
I’m also including an extra resource, my white paper: How to Create and Deliver Webinars That Sell. You’ll find a link to download it right below the video.
I want to hear from you in the comments! What’s your desert island business tool? Share your thoughts with me below the video.

Love the presentation. I am at the place in my business where I am starting to do video communication. HUGE learning curve. My first experience with a webinar wasn’t too successful but I want to try again. Love Webinar Jam and have signed up for Webinar Studio as well.
Thanks for the encouragement and laying it out for us. Pam! Now to move this passion into paying clients….

Bernice, I have a long list of epic webinar fails – happens to all of us, even the bigger brands. Keep at it – WJS will make it easier and it’s just about practice. LOVE that you are out there doing it! 🙂

I am serious about changing my business model and I appreciate the tools you are sharing to help me do this. I had looked at Webinar Jam last week through a link for Mike Filsane. I was impressed then, but it was your added comments and endorsement that caused me to pull the trigger on Webinar Jam and Genesis Labs. I look forward to receiving all the generous bonuses offered by you and Mike Koenigs. Thanks Pam and I look forward to meting you in San Diego.

Me too Linda! Make sure you come say hi! 🙂

Fantastic white paper. Thanks again Pam for sharing great resources.
I’ve been waiting for a long time to dip my toe in to the pool of webinar production and marketing. The information you provided and the offer of WebinarJam Studio along with the additional bonuses make it easy to dive right in.
Two desert island biz tools for me: email marketing & auto responder software; and whiteboard with a big supply of markers!
Pam Hendrickson says
Margy, thanks for your comment! I didn’t even think about office supplies (they used to call me an ‘office supply hussy” when I was at Tony Robbins!) 🙂 I agree on email marketing / autoresponders also being valuable pieces too…works in conjunction with automated webinars especially.
Margy says
Yep, Pam. I am with you on the office supplies. I can’t live without my Staples’ fix!
One of your last comments on today’s post, referring to webinars being automated, sealed the idea for me. Its been a big goal of mine to automate sharing knowledge to free up time to build more and more valuable content and just, well, get more done. The biggest hurdle has been taking the time to identify a suitable platform that is reasonably priced and is easy to learn and execute. Thanks for your solutions. They are perfect.

Hi Pam: I am so thankful for your training as it always speaks to my need at the moment, and supplies me with answers that are simple, effective and complete. Of those 3, my biggest frustration is information that always ends with another up-sale. If I want an answer I have to keep mining for the “mother load”. It’s like the elusive butterfly that is always just-out-of-reach. Thank you for your wisdom, and your complete generosity.

Thanks Joni! You have a way with words, just as you have a way with voices! 🙂

Thanks for that. I’m actually terrified to do a webinar but I know that I’m going to have to get over that in order for my business to move ahead. Do you have any suggestions for someone doing their first webinar that can help avoid the fear of the first. Maybe piggybacking or something?
Thanks
Pam Hendrickson says
Anita, everyone is nervous the first time! I even deleted the entire first webinar I was managing for Tony Robbins 30 minutes prior to it starting! Best suggestion is to get someone to manage it with or for you so you’re not doing all the tech and delivering content. Either ask a colleague or even a friend or family members just to help you through the first one, or go to elance.com or odesk.com to someone with experience who can do it for you. Once you have a couple under your belt, you’ll be a lot more comfortable as it’s really pretty easy to get the hang of it. I love that you’re putting yourself out there!

Thanks for sharing the whitepaper. The quality of your resources is always impressive.
I have done a lot of unsuccessful webinars with nobody or one person showing up despite using tools and templates.
But I agree that webinars are a great way to connect with your audience and with larger number of people – and at sometime I might find the key as well.

I really got a lot out of your video just now, as my page of notes attests! I know that webinars are in my future & so this helps me put pieces of the puzzle together. Thanks again for always delivering excellent value to your customers.
Nobby says
As always Pam, you deliver with enthusiasm and knowledge.
Love the tips as I am about to finally start delivering into the public arena and knowing webinars are the place to be as well as live.
The one tip that stuck out was to present the ‘what’ and not the ‘how’ which to me says show them what they can have and if they are interested they can engage you to do the how!
And the PDF is a timely and valuable asset.

Pam- Just bout WebinarJam Studio through your link. I’ve done webinars for years on GotoMeeting and the like… this is a big step forward. Thanks for the heads up, and also thanks for the valuable bonuses!
Pam Hendrickson says
You’re welcome! I love the platform (and the training, too). We’ll be in touch soon about your bonuses! 🙂
